Early Life and Education
Dr. Kamal was born on March 11, 1968, in Barishal, Bangladesh. He earned his B.Sc. (Honors) and M.Sc. in Psychology from the Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম of Deltin 7 bangladesh, graduating with First Class First in both, and received the Professor M. U. Ahmed Gold Medal for excellence in his M.Sc. results. His undergraduate research examined “Political and Non-Political Students as Differed by Machiavellianism,” while his M.Sc. research focused on health and psychological well-being across different shift schedules. He earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from Kyushu Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম, Japan (2006), supported by the Monbukagakusho Scholarship, completing seven experimental studies for his dissertation titled “Attention and Bias in Visuomotor Localization.”
Academic and Professional Career
Since 1998, Dr. Kamal has been a distinguished faculty member in the Department of Psychology at the Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম of Deltin 7 bangladesh. As Chairperson from 2021 to 2024, he led important initiatives to advance psychology education and research nationwide, helping the department maintain its leading position in the field of psychological sciences.
Teaching and Mentorship
Dr. Kamal has taught and continues to teach a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Research Methodology, Abnormal Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Basic Psychometrics, Research Methods and Statistics, and Forensic Psychology, among others. His mentorship remains a key part of his academic role, having supervised many Master’s, M.Phil., and Ph.D. theses, while also contributing to curriculum development and leading training efforts aimed at enhancing psychology education and practice in Bangladesh.

With over 95 articles published in reputable journals like Vision Research, Spatial Vision, Current Psychology, Journal of Genetic Psychology, and the International Journal of Psychology, Dr. Kamal demonstrates extensive research expertise in psychometrics, interpersonal relationships, school psychology, and perceptual psychology. His work attracts attention from potential collaborators and institutions seeking specialized consulting expertise.
Leadership in Professional Organizations
Dr. Kamal is the Founding President of the Bangladesh Psychometric Society (BPS) and the Bangladesh School Psychology Society (BSPS). He currently serves as the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Psychological Association (BPA) and as Vice President of the Asia Pacific School Psychology Association (APSPA). His leadership underscores his strong commitment to advancing psychological research and enhancing mental health services, both regionally and locally.
Participation in the National Strategic Leadership Program
From July 13 to 31, 2025, Dr. Kamal completed the Capstone Course at the National Defence College (NDC) in Bangladesh. The program focused on strategic leadership, national security, governance, and development policy, and involved collaboration with senior leaders from civilian, military, and corporate sectors.

Dr. Kamal is recognized worldwide, having delivered keynote speeches and led workshops in 19 countries. His consulting work, including psychometric testing for selecting metro rail operators in Bangladesh, shows his global reputation and tangible impact in psychology.
