Data Science was hot a few years ago. It is no longer a hot topic. The tremendous growth in terms of using/adopting data science, machine learning that the scientific community and the industry have observed over the past two years is noteworthy. Good thing is, statisticians are gradually coming out of their cocoon to experience the new landscape. In this talk, I will discuss why and how statisticians should take the next steps to learn machine learning before they (statisticians) potentially become obsolete in the industry.
