Leaving the rigorous world of multivariate analysis and regression models behind for a day, the Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT) family gathered at the tranquil Rupsha Resort in Gazipur on Friday, February 06, 2026, for its much-anticipated Annual Picnic. The morning mist of Gazipur greeted the arriving buses as students and faculty alike traded their laptops for a day of sun-soaked relaxation and community bonding. Almost 175 participants, including students, several faculty members, their family members, and staff, joined the picnic.
The day unfolded with a vibrant energy that went far beyond the classroom. Nestled within the resort’s lush greenery, the ISRT community transformed the grounds into a hub of activity. High-energy student sports competitions ran alongside more lighthearted games for faculty and staff, proving that the spirit of competition is just as strong in the field as in the lab. Between the cheers from the sidelines and the sound of cultural performances, the atmosphere remained electric throughout the afternoon.
As is tradition, the excitement reached its peak during the Lottery Event, where the entire gathering—from respected professors to the undergraduates—waited in anticipation for the winning numbers. This shared sense of fun, paired with a hearty traditional feast, served as a perfect bridge between the ISRT family’s generations, reinforcing the unique bond that defines the institute.
The seamless execution of the day’s events was a testament to the hard work of the 29th Batch, who took the lead in coordination. Their efforts, combined with the support of the Director, the picnic committee led by Prof. Dr. Iftakhar Alam, and all participants, made the program a resounding success.
As the sun began to set over Rupsha Resort and the buses headed back toward Deltin 7 bangladesh, the community left with more than just prizes; they carried back a recharged spirit and a collection of memories that will surely last through the upcoming academic year.
