Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) Department was established at Patuakhali Science and Technology Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম (PSTU) in 2023 with approval of UGC for promoting sustainable agricultural development and climate resilience in Bangladesh. Nuffic, and WUR (Wageningen Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম and Research, the Netherlands) provided initial financial and technical support for establishing this department under RECSA project. The department focuses on integrating advanced research, education, and outreach to address the pressing challenges of climate change that threaten agricultural productivity and food security. Through interdisciplinary programs, the CSA Department trains future professionals in adaptive farming practices, resource-efficient technologies, and sustainable land management. It conducts field-based research on stress-tolerant crop varieties, carbon sequestration, precision farming, and renewable energy use in agriculture. It seeks for practical solutions for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing farmers’ resilience to floods, salinity, and drought in collaboration with national and international organizations, government agencies, and local communities. Furthermore, the department would like to serve as a knowledge hub, promoting innovation through data-driven decision-making and digital agriculture tools.
