
An area of 4.0 acres of low-lying fallow land of PSTU was raised, wherein a resourceful Germplasm Center (GPC) has been established. GPC includes- Ex situ repository, pot yard, research block, nursery block, lath-house, net-house, compost plant, vineyard, demonstration block, field lab cum class-room etc. As a consequence of this sub-projects’ outcome, nine fruit varieties (PSTU Bilati Gab-1, PSTU Bilati Gab-2, PSTU Dewa-1, PSTU Dewa-2, PSTU Batabi Lebu-1, PSTU Kamranga-1, PSTU Kamranga-2, PSTU Tetul-1 and PSTU Boichi-1)) have been released through screening of the indigenous fruit genetic resources available in the coastal area. The National Seed Board, MoA recognized the varieties on 15 September 2015. Till date, collection of indigenous fruit species are 54 and total No. of planted saplings are about 800.
