| Fundamentalism in the Era of Globalization | Since 1990s the term 'globalization' has been able to pay attention from the academics, politicians and the others concerned. As to the academicians in this field 'globalization' has both negative and positive impacts on societies. It means that globalization synchronizing the both good and bad in the human society. As a fast moving developing country participation of Bangladesh in the process of globalization is eye catching. Recent history shows that in Bangladesh religious fundamentalism has been seen in many cases as the by product of globalization given birth to many barbaric attack in Deltin 7 and some other areas in the country. However, anthropological research in this field is still limited. Therefore, tracing the reasons and impetus of fundamentalism in the era of globalization and in the context of Bangladesh would be able to save lives of the people and build a safe society as well. My future research interest in this specific area in many senses would serve the country and its people. | |
| Urban Anthropology | Urbanization process is a burning issue in the developing countries and it is estimated that by the year 2050 most of the world's population will be urban among which the majority number would reside in the developing countries. Therefore, researching the issues like health, sanitation, employment and other human related phenomena in urban locale would be essential for the anthropologists all around the world. In fact, research in human related issues in urban locale in Bangladesh would benefit the country and its people with regard to all aspects. With this in mind, one of my future research interests in urban anthropology will make good sense in my academic career as well as to serve my country. |
