| Social issues in fisheries and aquaculture | Fisheries and aquaculture sector traditionally focuses on production, business, biology and supply of human nutrition. However, people who are sacrificing their whole life to produce/catch fish are often neglected and remain poor and vulnerable over generations in developing countries. For sustainable management and development of this sector, human and social dimentions need to be focused more. A "Fishers First Policy" needs to be implemented. |
