Undergraduate Admission
The following information may help the admission seeking students to have an overview of the undergraduate programs and post-graduate programs, including all the instructions as per the BAUET rules and regulations:
Number of Seats in Each Intake
The number of seats available for 04 (Four) years Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering/Hons) programs are in each batch as follows:

Admission Process
Rules and Procedures:
- Candidates have to complete admission formalities within a fixed period of time as decided by admission office.
- Any candidate failing to complete admission formalities within the prescribed time, her/his selection will be automatically cancelled.
- Any student failing to attend the class within two weeks of the commencement of the academic program will be warranted cancellation of his/her admission and forfeiture of all fees including security deposit.
- Vacant seats will be filled up from waiting lists which will be prepared and displayed by the admission office as per merit and be notified as per requirement.
- Original copies of certificates and transcripts/mark sheets of SSC & HSC or equivalent examination
- Five copies of passport size and two copies of stamp size recent colored photograph of the candidate
- Testimonial from the head of the last institution attended
- Nationality certificate from UP Chairman or appropriate authority or birth certificate
- In case of Freedom Fighters (FF) quota, candidate must submit the original certificate of the FF issued by the Ministry of Freedom Fighters Affairs, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
Department Allotment: Departments will be allotted on the basis of individual merit position in the admission test at the end of admission against total vacancies. Individual choice for selection of departments will be given preference as far as possible.
Guardian’s Undertakings: During admission, parents/guardians of the candidate must give an undertaking with the conditions set by the BAUET authority.
Admission Schedule for Each Year:
- For Summer (March to August) session the admission process starts from December of the previous year.
- For Fall (September to February) session the admission process starts from July of the same year.
- Selected candidates will get themselves admitted as per the time table to be announced by BAUET.
Qualifications for Application:
- B.Sc. Engg. in CE/CSE/EEE/ICE/ME
- SSC/Dakhil and HSC/Alim Examinations: HSC/Alim or equivalent examination in Science Group with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry scoring minimum GPA 3.0 for each. The sum total GPA of SSC/Dakhil and HSC/Alim should be minimum 6.00 (with additional subject).
- GCE Applicants: (O Level) Minimum ‘C’ Grade in five subjects including, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1). (A Level) Minimum C Grade in 2 subjects including Mathematics, Physics/ Chemistry. The sum total of GPA in GCE A and O level should be 6. Out of 7 subjects B grade will be in 4 subjects and C grade will be in 3 subjects. The candidate must not have any E grade in any subject of the both levels.
- Diploma holders in related subjects are eligible to apply with at least (SSC/Dakhil GPA 3.00 in Science Group & Diploma in Engineering CGPA 2.50).
NB: Applicants who have obtained a total GPA of 7.00 together in HSC/Alim or equivalent and SSC/Dakhil & Diploma holders (SSC/Dakhil GPA 3.50 in Science Group & Diploma in Engineering CGPA 2.50) are eligible for Direct admission through viva-voce immediately after the circular with the following documents: SSC & HSC Original Mark sheets, Certificates, NID/Birth Certificate, 06 Copies PP size photo, Parents’ NID photocopies.
- BBA, BA (Hons) in English and LLB (Hons):
- SSC/Dakhil and HSC/Alim Examination: Applicants must have minimum GPA of 2.50 in both the SSC and HSC (or equivalent) examinations. In the case where the GPA in one exam is as low as 2.00, the total combined from both exams must be at least 6.00. The candidates with F grade in any subject will not be considered.
- GCE Applicants. (O Level) Minimum C Grade in five subjects (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1). (A Level) Minimum C Grade in 2 subjects. The sum total of GPA in GCE A and O level should be 6. Out of 7 subjects B grade will be in 4 subjects and C grade will be in 3 subjects. The candidate must not have any E grade in any subject of the both levels.
NB: Applicants who have obtained a total GPA of 6.00 together in HSC/Alim or equivalent and SSC/Dakhil or equivalent are eligible for Direct admission through viva-voce immediately after the circular with the following documents: SSC & HSC Original Mark sheets, Certificates, NID/Birth Certificate, 06 Copies PP size photo, Parents’ NID photocopies.
Graduate Admission:

Eligibility for Graduate Programs:
MBA Program: (1-Year)
The candidate must have a 4-Year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from any recognized university.
MA in English Program: (1-Year)
The candidate must have a 4-Year Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English degree from any recognized university.
