Sultana Jahan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Language and Communication at Patuakhali Science and Technology Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম (PSTU), where she has been serving since 2019.
She completed her graduation in English from the Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম of Deltin 7 bangladesh and obtained her Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching (ELT).
Sultana Jahan began her professional career as a Coordinator to the High Commissioner at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Bangladesh. She later transitioned into academia, joining a private university as a Lecturer, where she taught for approximately four years. In 2019, she joined PSTU, where she currently contributes as a dedicated faculty member.
At PSTU, she mainly teaches Communicative English. However, she also has a strong passion for teaching literature and enjoys engaging students with literary texts and discussions.
Her research interests include TESOL, public speaking, teacher education and professional development, curriculum development, phonetics and phonology, English language teaching, second language acquisition (SLA), sociolinguistics, metalinguistics, teaching methodology, educational technology, translanguaging, and modern literature.
Beyond her academic responsibilities, Sultana Jahan is also actively involved in student development activities. She serves as a Unit Leader of the Rover Scout group at her university, contributing to leadership and community engagement among students
Sultana's areas of expertise include Second Language Acquisition, Language Pedagogy, TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), Developing Speaking Skill, and ELT materials Evaluation. Besides these, her research enfolds teaching and learning English and evaluating curriculum, Teaching English as EFL and ESL as well as Public Speaking . She is currently working on curriculum development and more specifically on outcome based curriculum in numerous projects. She has also studied gender and language perspectives. However, she has compassion in literature especially in poetry and short stories.
