Mr. Md. Shajadul Islam was born in Salanga, Sirajganj, Bangladesh in 1995. He completed his B.Sc. degree in Nutrition and Food Science in 2016, followed by an M.Sc. in Food Microbiology in 2018, both from Patuakhali Science and Technology Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম (PSTU), Bangladesh. His M.Sc. thesis focused on the effects of gamma radiation and potassium sorbate on the preservation of shrimp, contributing to food safety research.
Mr. Islam began his academic career as a Microbiologist at Pharmaceutical company in 2019 before joining PSTU as a Lecturer in 2023. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Microbiology and Safety at PSTU, where he teaches undergraduate and master's courses in food microbiology, food safety, contaminants, fermentation, and molecular techniques. His research interests include food safety, microbiology, antibiotic residues, heavy metals, microplastic pollution, nutrition, and public health.
With multiple publications in international journals on topics ranging from foodborne pathogens and microbial quality assessment to public health impacts, Mr. Islam has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing food microbiology and safety. He has also contributed to nationally funded projects focused on microbial safety in food and antibiotic resistance. His work integrates rigorous laboratory research with public health applications, positioning him as an emerging expert in his field.
