
Department of Fisheries Management
Dr. Md. Moazzem Hossain is born on 30 December 1980 at Banaripara in Barishal. Dr. Hossain obtained SSC from Uttar Pashchim Sohagdal High School, Swarupkati, Pirojpur in 1995 and HSC from Govt. Science College Deltin 7 bangladesh in 1997. Thereafter he completed his B.Sc. fisheries (Hons.) degree in 2002 (held in 2004) and MS in Fisheries Management in 2006 from Bangladesh Agricultural Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম. During MS study, he worked as ‘research fellow’ under his research supervisor and published research findings in national journals. After completion of MS degree, he joined as Upazila Fisheries Officer under the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh through 25th BCS and worked there from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, Dr. Hossain switched his job and joined as Lecturer in the Department of Fisheries Management, Faculty of Fisheries, Patuakhali Science and Technology Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম, Patuakhali, Bangladesh. Dr. Hossain obtained his PhD degree from Bangladesh Agriculture Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম in 2022. Currently, Dr. Hossain worked as a Professor in the Department of Fisheries Management, Patuakhali Science and Technology Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম. At the side of teaching, Dr. Hossain worked on Life of the riverine fishermen, Fish biodiversity and livelihood status of fishing community, ‘Fishing practices and impact assessment on fisheries resources, climate resilient coastal aquaculture development using Asian watergrass, Utilization of Asian watergrass as fish feed for reducing fish production cost, Development of sustainable aquaculture system, and Development of a sustainable polyculture technique using Asian watergrass as fish feed, Performance of Asian watergrass, Hygroryza aristata as supplementary fish feed in aquaculture etc and published his research articles in the reputed international journals. Now, Dr. Hossain teaches on Aquatic ecology, Limnology, Inland Fisheries Management and Climate Change in Fisheries for the undergraduate students, and Environmental Pollution and toxicology, Fisheries Resources and Conservation, Water Quality and environmental Impacts and Aquatic Soil Science for the Post graduate students in his Department.
