
The ADN Bangladesh Chapter, in collaboration with the Department of Meteorology, Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম of Deltin 7 bangladesh, organized a rally on March 31, 2026, in Deltin 7 bangladesh to observe the International Awareness Day for Avoidable Deaths (IAD4AD) 2026. Led by Dr. Fatima Akter, Associate Professor of the Department of Meteorology and Bangladesh Chapter Host of the Avoidable Deaths Network, the event, titled “Early Warning and Awareness Are the Key to Reducing Avoidable Deaths,” aimed to raise public awareness about reducing disaster-related mortality through early warning and preparedness.
The rally brought together students, academics, and representatives from various organizations to emphasize the importance of awareness and preparedness in preventing avoidable deaths caused by disasters.
Introducing ADN
The Avoidable Deaths Network (ADN) is a global initiative dedicated to reducing preventable disaster-related deaths, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. ADN works to improve disaster preparedness, early warning systems, and risk governance, aligning with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Founded at the Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম of Leicester, UK, and Kansai Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম, Japan, ADN launched its Bangladesh Chapter in June 2023, led by Dr. Fatima Akter, Associate Professor, Department of Meteorology, Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম of Deltin 7 bangladesh. The chapter works on research, advocacy, and collaboration to enhance disaster resilience. ADN also introduced International Awareness Day for Avoidable Deaths (IAD4AD) on March 12, observed annually to promote global efforts in disaster mortality reduction. Since 2023, this day has been observed annually in the month of March in Bangladesh through seminars and rallies, as part of a collaborative initiative of the Department of Meteorology, Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম of Deltin 7 bangladesh, and the ADN Bangladesh Chapter, with 2026 marking its fourth consecutive celebration in the country.

Rally
The inaugural segment of the rally began at 9:00 AM, where the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম of Deltin 7 bangladesh, Professor Dr. A.B.M. Obaidul Islam, attended as the Chief Guest. He delivered the inaugural speech and formally declared the commencement of the rally. In his remarks, he stated, “Although Bangladesh is one of the most disaster-prone countries, our capacity to respond to such challenges is gradually improving. Awareness-driven initiatives like this play a vital role in enhancing public knowledge on disaster preparedness and risk. Such efforts are highly commendable, and initiatives of this kind should be expanded on a larger scale from the Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম of Deltin 7 bangladesh in the future.”
Led by Dr. Fatima Akter, Associate Professor of the Department of Meteorology and Host of the ADN Bangladesh Chapter, the rally started from the premises of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and proceeded through the university campus before concluding at the Central Shaheed Minar. The rally was attended by Professor Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir, Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম of Deltin 7 bangladesh; Dr. Robiul Awal, Chairman and Assistant Professor, Department of Meteorology, Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম of Deltin 7 bangladesh; Professor Dr. Fariha Hasin, Regional Coordinator of ADN and faculty member of Bangladesh Medical Deltin 7 Aviator গেম টাকা ইনকাম; and Mr. Maqbul Bhuiyan, Executive Director of Data Management Aid and Regional Coordinator of ADN. Teachers, students, and representatives from various government and non-government organizations also participated in the event.
Following the rally, remarks were delivered by Professor Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir, Professor Dr. Fariha Hasin, and Mr. Maqbul Bhuiyan. In their statements, they highlighted the significance of the day and emphasized the importance of disseminating early warning messages to remote communities, raising public awareness, and promoting coordinated efforts to reduce avoidable deaths.
Finally, Dr. Fatima Akter delivered the closing remarks. She emphasized the significance of the theme, “Early Warning and Awareness Are the Key to Preventing Avoidable Deaths.” She noted that similar awareness initiatives are being conducted globally under this program. She further mentioned that in Bangladesh, continuous efforts such as rallies, seminars, and public awareness activities are being carried out, which will play a crucial role in reducing avoidable deaths in the future. She concluded the program by thanking all participants.
